Aristata’s voice service does support E911, but there are some important differences to be aware of in the event of an emergency because power failures and Internet outages will affect your ability to dial 911.
- As with all VoIP delivered phone services, Aristata Voice may not work during a power outage. This can be prevented by purchasing a battery backup, also called an uninterruptible backup power supply (UPS).
- Your voice service operates over the same network as your Internet service. As such, your voice service will not function in the event of an Internet outage or other service interruption, even if the battery backup is working.
- If you move your analogue telephone adapter (ATA) to a new location without updating your registered address with us, the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) may be unable to automatically identify your location when dialing 911.More information is available at our E911 disclosure page.Aristata’s voice service does support E911, but there are some important differences to be aware of in the event of an emergency because power failures and Internet outages will affect your ability to dial 911.
